Conversations with Cyndi Cyndi Amjadi June 30, 2026
I can't tell you how many times I've heard those exact words.
Usually, someone will smile, look around their home, and say, "Cyndi, I love this house. We've made so many memories here. I just don't love taking care of it anymore."
And honestly, I understand.
A home that was perfect when you were raising a family can start to feel different years later. The extra bedrooms don't get used very often. The yard takes more time than you want to spend on it. Stairs become a little less convenient. Weekends that used to be for relaxing turn into weekends filled with chores.
That doesn't mean you've stopped loving your home.
It just means your lifestyle has changed.
One thing I always tell my clients is that downsizing isn't about giving something up. It's about making room for the life you want today.
For some people, that's a smaller home with less maintenance. For others, it's moving into an HOA community where someone else takes care of the landscaping. And for some, it's simply finding a home that's easier to enjoy without all the upkeep.
There isn't one right answer.
The right answer is whatever gives you more freedom and more peace of mind.
The best part of my job isn't handing someone the keys to their next home. It's seeing the relief on their face a few months later when they tell me they're spending more time with family, traveling more, or simply enjoying life without feeling tied to a house that's become too much to manage.
If you've ever caught yourself saying, "I love my house... I just don't love taking care of it anymore," you're not alone.
Maybe you're not ready to move today, and that's okay.
Sometimes the first step is simply having a conversation.
I'm always happy to sit down, answer your questions, and help you explore your options—without any pressure. My goal is to help you make the decision that's right for you, whenever the time feels right.
