Things to Do in Bakersfield This Weekend

Weekend with Kristin | October 10–11, 2026

Okay, Bakersfield…we officially have a SPLIT HOUSEHOLD this weekend. 😂

I decided to interview my kids about what THEY wanted to do this weekend, thinking surely we could all agree on something fun.

Apparently, I was wrong.

The question was simple: Would you rather have tea with alpacas or go shoot zombies?

And somehow, one kid still wanted to go to the pumpkin patch while the other was ready to take on a zombie apocalypse. 🧟🎃

So much for a nice, peaceful family outing. 😂

But honestly, this is exactly why I love putting together these weekend guides. There's so much happening around Bakersfield that even when your own family can't agree, there's something for everyone.

And this weekend? We've got EVERYTHING from baby goats and alpacas to haunted trails, Greek food, car shows, Disney on Ice and fall festivals.

Let's get into it!

🦙 Team Cute & Cozy: Alpacas, Pumpkins and Baby Goats

If you're more into adorable animals, fall activities and a little less screaming, Saturday has you covered.

Blue Barn Alpaca Ranch has several experiences throughout the morning:

  • 6:30 AM — Sunrise Walk & Talk
  • 9:00 AM — Alpaca Meet & Greet
  • 10:00 AM — Children's Story Time

Reservations are required.

And then there's Goat Yoga at Cherry Acres, Saturday from 8:30–9:30 AM.

Because apparently regular yoga wasn't entertaining enough, so we decided to add baby goats. 😂🐐

Bring your own mat!

If you're more of a pumpkin-patch person, Pilates in the Pumpkin Patch is happening at Halloween Town from 9–10 AM.

You get Pilates, a fall latte served in a carved pumpkin, petting zoo access AND a pumpkin to take home.

Honestly, I can see why the pumpkin patch got a vote in our house. 🎃

🧟 Team Chaos: Zombie Paintball and Haunted Attractions

Now, for the OTHER half of my household…

Apparently, we're choosing violence against zombies this weekend. 😂

Haunted Harvest and Zombie Paintball is happening Saturday from 7–9 PM at Cherry Acres.

And if that's not enough Halloween excitement, we've also got:

Bako Haunted Trails: Death Row
Saturday, 7–10 PM
📍 Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch

Fright Night in the Patch
Saturday, 9 PM
📍 Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch
Horror movies under the stars with roaming alpacas. Bring blankets!

Halloween Trunk or Treat
Saturday, 6:30–9 PM
📍 The Pinnacle Fight and Fitness

So yes, apparently you can spend your morning doing yoga with baby goats and your evening shooting zombies.

Only in Bakersfield. 😂

❤️ Kristin's Weekend Challenge

This weekend, I'm challenging you to let everyone in the family pick something they'd love to do.

Because apparently, even in my own household, we can't agree on alpacas, pumpkins or zombies. 😂

And you know what? That's okay.

Sometimes the best family memories come from trying something you wouldn't have picked yourself.

Now I need YOUR vote:

🦙 Team Alpacas

🎃 Team Pumpkin Patch

🧟 Team Zombie Paintball

Which one are YOU choosing?

Because clearly, my household needs a tiebreaker. 😂❤️

I'll see you out there, Bakersfield!
